Post Election Surprise #1
Cary Area Citizens for Responsible Government
HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEYS THAT YOU FILLED OUT:
1. Do you feel that before Village Trustees spend taxpayer's money to buy property and create TIF districts that a plan should be presented to the public and an advisory referendum held?
2. Do you think that Village Trustees should be more aggressive in support of additional bridges and roads in the area to lessen traffic on Route 14?
3. Do you believe the Village Trustees should work out problems with other units of government (Schools, Park, County, etc.) to solve problems without running up massive legal bills?
4. Do you believe the Village Trustees have done a good job of supervising the Village Administrator, Department Heads and Staff to ensure courteous and efficient service for the people of Cary?
5. When Cary issues a permit for a house, garage or sign do you believe that permits should be grandfathered until the property owner chooses to build something different?
6. Cary has in excess of 19,000 people (and growing). Soon it will reach 25,000 and automatically become a home-rule unit. At that point, the Village Board members will have many new powers to tax and regulate. Do you believe there should be a referendum on this before it is done automatically?
7. Rumor has it the Village is working on a plan to tear down "old town Cary" (across from the train station) and build a 2,4,6…floor condo development instead. Do you believe there should be a referendum on the plan before taxpayers' money is expended?
8. Do you believe Village Trustees should use taxpayer's funds, TIF districts and possibly condemnation to take private property from one individual to transfer it to another individual to build a development for profit?
We would like to here from you with any comments or suggestions.
